But if piercings are your thing, you’ve probably seen surface piercing and dermal piercing rising in popularity over the past few years. These piercings – usually in the cheek or other parts of the body where it doesn’t go all the way through – are actually safer than other piercings and have less risk of infection because the contact point is so small. They are easy to replace if they fall out, and if you decide you don’t like it, they are easy to permanently remove. They are easy to insert and heal very fast.
