According to Lao Tzu: “A journey to thousand miles begins with a single step.” And so that single step was browsing to seat sales of Cebu Pacific. Voila! We’ve found and booked our Bacolod trip.
Planning the Itinerary
Planning our itinerary for three days and two nights was really challenging. Considering that on the third day we’ll be flying back to Manila as early as six in the morning. With that in mind, me and my partner both agreed that we just want a good view and good food! Thanks to the help of travel blogs and reviews, we’ve found and booked at once, Punta Bulata White Beach Resort and Spa.
I LOVE VIEW
We were able to reach Punta Bulata White Beach Resort and Spa at lunch time. With almost five hours of travel from South Ceres Terminal, five stop overs, no breakfast, and few hours of sleep. Our mood of excitement just dropped to zero. Moments before reaching Bangga Salamat Po (pickup point of Tricycle to the resort) we were feeling exhausted and dead hungry!
Arriving at the location was like a breath of literal fresh air! The resort was paradise! Surrounded by coconut trees, beach with white sand, hammocks, we were in awe! We received a warm welcome from their staff Ms Suzzette Janeo. Aside from the wonderful view, Punta Bulata Resort’s room, service and amenities were all amazing. Not to mention their wonderful infinity pool!
SEE-FOOD
Bacolod is known not only for it’s smiles and scenery, but also for it’s great food! During our stay at Punta Bulata, we were able to taste Bacolod’s popular dish – Chicken Inasal. The chicken was tender and tasty that there’s no need for sauce!
We headed back to Bacolod City on our second day. We were supposed to visit Cafe by the Ruins, but because of the long land travel from Punta Bulata, we felt the need to rest and just eat. I’ve searched online and also asked the receptionist of the hotel where we stayed in for the best restaurants nearby.
According to the receptionist, there were many restaurants we can choose from at Lacson St. so we headed there by riding a jeep. We alighted at Bar 21. We were expecting that restaurants are lined up side by side in Lacson St. On the contrary, there were quite few. We tried checking out close by restaurants and finally, we were able to choose one.
We were enticed by the mixture of classy and industrial look and feel of “Tres” restaurant. The good ambiance matched it’s mouthwatering food. The US Gamba Steak and King Henry chop is a must try! As per their chocolate cake, nothing seems to be extraordinary. But we will surely would love to come back here!
Final Thoughts
If you want a different kind of experience from usual picked spots like Boracay or Palawan, Negros Occidental has its own beauty worth exploring for. But always had in mind that nothing beats enjoying nature and delightful food with the one you love! Truly every moment shared is priceless! Looking forward for more adventures and food trip my best travel buddy and partner in life!

What a beautiful place! We do miss the beach. My wife and I were planning to go back to Negros in 2018 but a lot has happened since then. We had kids and then the pandemic.
What a gorgeous resort! We have been missing the beach lately and would love to go there.
Very interesting. It’s actually disappointing that I never got to a beach in my visits to the Philippines. I chose Manila and Angeles City instead. Perhaps, I should’ve been looking at the sands of Bacolod.
Wow, looks like a great place just by looking at the photos, I am pretty sure this is the place that I want to be for the summer and let me put this on my holiday to-do list 🙂 – Knycx journeying
