Livelihood programs play a major role for the development and sustainability of our local communities, particularly living in a third world country. The livelihood programs not only provide skills but also empower individuals to secure their livelihoods despite economic fluctuations. Acknowledging this importance, M Lhuillier (ML) took the initiative to organize a livelihood training called ‘Empowering Women Through Meat Processing: Skinless Longganisa & Pork Tocino Making.
Led by the ML dedicated team, in partnership with TESDA Talisay City Branch, the course was held at Barangay 10, Bacolod City, on February 24, 2024. The training was facilitated by a TESDA-accredited instructor. The course is about learning to make their own Pork Tocino and Skinless Longganisa, including the required ingredients and equipment. At the end of the training, all the participants received certificates confirming their successful completion.
A group of women from the Women’s Association of Barangay 10 were the invited participants for ML’s livelihood training program. These women aspire to generate additional income to support their families and meet their daily expenses.
The training program was met with appreciation and gratitude from the participants, who sincerely expressed their thanks to the ML team and the other members who helped organize the training.
M Lhuillier’s core dedication as “Tulay ng PaMLyang Pilipino” shines through its initiatives and offered services, and aims to focus on serving as a bridge in helping and empowering individuals and enabling them to uplift their families and communities.
The women participants at the livelihood training did not only learn meat processing but also opened up new opportunities for them, such as potentially starting their own businesses or joining companies that require such skills. Above all, it will have a positive impact at the community level as well.
Moreover, M Lhuiller reaffirms its commitment and genuine sentiments to support the communities by providing training opportunities that support families’ livelihoods. These promote resilience and sustainable development that will help individuals gain and improve their skills.
